Why does TailorLabs ask up to 5 questions?
The rationale behind the question limit and how questions are chosen.
The limit is practical
TailorLabs asks at most 5 questions per tailor. The cap is deliberate: a focused workflow beats an interrogation, so only the gaps that genuinely affect your fit become questions.
Questions are selected by priority: the gaps most likely to affect hiring decisions and resume accuracy come first.
How questions are chosen
The system selects questions based on:
- Requirement importance: skills and responsibilities the job description emphasizes most.
- Current evidence strength: areas where your resume is weakest relative to the requirement.
- Prompt efficiency: related requirements can be bundled into one question to avoid redundancy.
- Confidence threshold: low-confidence requirements are deprioritized if evidence is ambiguous.
What if I have more to add?
After tailoring, you can make manual edits to add additional context or experience that was not captured by the questions. Manual edits do not cost a credit.
