Why do I see gaps on the job page but fewer on the tailored resume?
How requirement gaps, questions, and final keyword coverage relate to each other.
Different stages, different signals
The job detail page shows requirement gaps from the role analysis stage.
The tailored resume page shows coverage after your answers and rewrite pass. Some gaps close during tailoring, so counts can change.
Why counts can differ
A mismatch does not always mean a bug:
- One answer can close more than one related requirement gap.
- Some requirements are grouped into a single prompt to avoid repetitive questions.
- Draft edits may improve coverage enough that a gap is no longer flagged.
- Low-confidence requirements may be excluded from final prompts when evidence is weak.
How to verify your result
Check these areas before re-tailoring:
- Keyword coverage list on the export page.
- What Changed panel for summary and bullet updates.
- Role requirements section on the job detail page after answers are submitted.
When to re-tailor
