What is the difference between my baseline resume and a tailored version?

Baseline resume

Your baseline resume is the source document you uploaded. It contains your full, unmodified work history and serves as the foundation every tailor draws from.

You should keep the baseline accurate and complete. Updating it when you gain new experience, certifications, or roles means every future tailor starts from a stronger foundation.

Tailored versions

Each tailored version is a job-specific draft built from your baseline. Only the content relevant to that job gets emphasized or rewritten; your baseline remains unchanged.

Tailored versions are not meant to replace your baseline. They are delivery-ready exports for one specific application.

When to update your baseline

Update the baseline when:

• You have started a new role or completed a major project.
• You have earned a certification or credential relevant to your target roles.
• Your career focus has shifted and older top-line content no longer reflects your direction.
• The baseline is more than six months old and feels stale.
